We illustrate how a verifiable credential can be presented in full or in part (by selecting the information to be disclosed) depending on the verifier’s requirements, thus allowing privacy and data control by the bearer. A use case is presented where a citizen receives a complete government credential and uses it in different contexts: completely in a bank and partially in a bar to prove his age of majority, without revealing additional information.
This process demonstrates the flexibility, security, and efficiency of verifiable credentials in managing digital identity, promoting privacy and control of personal information in an increasingly digitally connected world.
